We got up quite a bit later than usual, slowly getting dressed and ready for church.. This morning we went to the local VGK church, which was at the back of town in the coloured community.. As the four of us walked into the church, we turned quite a few heads; due to the fact that we were the only white people in church.. Tannie Toeks, one of the church leaders opened the congregation; even welcoming us with a broad smile.. The service was led by the leader of the Women’s service; as the pastor and majority of the church council was attending another service in Canarvan today.. After church we conversed with tannie Toeks, who was also the principal of the local school, as well as two other church leaders.. We left them with quite a few Bibles for the church and school (even some Xhosa Bibles that they were going to give to the local Xhosa church); as well as a few living balls..

After that we went into town to buy some supplies from the small superette; and then went for brunch at Richmond café, on a local farmer’s tab.. It is a quaint little café; but Katherine, the waitress, was very friendly; and the food was superb.. The owner of the café, had a project where she made up gifts for all the underprivileged children in town; and after hearing about this we gave her a few balls, as well as promising to help her with a few Bibles..

We then went back to the grounds; where Hans and Marais took a proper Sunday afternoon nap, JanPaul sat fishing (on his phone), and Gert sat journaling again (whilst doing washing – the place had a washing machine, so all our clothes had a proper wash again)..

At 4’o clock we left for Stillewaters, a farm just outside town, where we got an invite from oom Johan and tannie Sarie Loggenberg.. We arrived there, the pastor and his wife also present, and talked for quite a while; we then had a late lunch with them, even spoiled with dessert.. We took our leave, and went back to pack up our things; cleaning and oiling our saddles, etc.. JanPaul took out his guitar, and for the next hour or so we sat worshipping..

With a well-rested body, and content heart, we got in bed.. Thankful for the rest day; excited for yet another week to come..
